What I Wore This Week

Hi, everyone! I’m officially on eight weeks of lockdown here. I’ve been relying to some of my favorite scents to get through it, like No. 19 and Magnolia Nobile.

  • Monday: Magnolia Nobile by Acqua di Parma
  • Tuesday: Timbre EDP by Chris Rusak
  • Wednesday: Fidji by Guy Laroche
  • Thursday: Chanel No. 19 EDT
  • Friday & Saturday: Fig-Tea by Parfums de Nicolai

I hope you’re all holding up well! What did you wear?

  1. Fidji!! I wore it around 1983. How is current formulation?
I am with you in two months of lockdown and work from home. Working 12-16 hour days learning new technology and being required to do things that I have never been responsible for. Hard to teach an old dog new tricks 😁

Today I stole sprays from my middle one’s Flowerbomb on my neck and her Iris Nobile EDT on my wrists. I think I smell pretty amazing πŸ˜πŸ‘Œ

    1. I got the Fidji EDT several years ago from fragrancenet. I think in 2016? It’s definitely a modern formulation. The edt only lasts about 4 hours on me. The nice thing about working from home is that I can reapply whenever! I’d love to get my hands on the parfum. I’m sure ebay is the place for that.

I don’t mind the technology so much. I don’t mind using zoom, lol. But it’s a different work/life balance when working from home.

  2. Hope e your lockdown will end soon. I got a decant of Tommy The Girl today, because I am looking for a fig scent for summer. I have other candidates to test too, like Premier Figuier, Figue Blanche and Fico d’ India.

    1. Please come back to chime in on all your fig samplings. I am very curious because I love gif as a note.

    2. I love fig scents β€” especially for summer. Premier Figuier and Philosykos are two of the best. I haven’t tried Figue Blanche or Fico d’India. Definitely let us know your thoughts!

  3. I have a travel spray of EB Florals Virgin Lily of the Valley. I might chanel Old Herbaceous who loves Lily of the valley and wear it all week. I need to start using some more of my decants and travel sprays before they evaporate.

      1. I looked at some of my daughter’s samples that she left at home and they have already evaporated. That prompted me to start using mine!!

        1. Whoa, that seems quick! I guess it’s a sign that they’re meant to be used up and not just sitting around.

  4. Change of plans
Went with Brit Parfum today. I had forgotten how amazingly good this one is in any season. Plus, Caitlin, it always reminds me of you because you post it a lot in your SOTD.

      1. Ha Ha, it certainly looks like it. I was looking in a box and Avon perfumes and body lotions appeared.
I usually buy Avon after reading Samantha’s reviews on her blog I Scent you a Day., especially when they are on special offer.
        Some famous perfumiers have been involved with some Avon perfumes…Oliver Cresp….Honorine Blanc…Maurice Roucel….Emilie Coppermann….Christopher Sheldrake….Delphine Jelk….Kenzo.
There’s lots more but that’s all I can think of at the moment.

        1. I started wearing Avon in the 1970s. They had and still have some amazing perfumes. And they are ridiculously affordable.

  5. I am up with insomnia so gave myself a spritz of Brit. I can’t get over how much I love it now. It’s the perfect almond scent and so comforting to me.

  6. Boy am I ever glad it’s Friday!
Brit again. Sugared almond yumminess. I may need a few back up bottles 😬

    1. I haven’t got Brit, perhaps I should. It sounds lovely.
I might as well carry on with Avon, so today it’s Mesmerize Mystique Amber. I like this nice and spicey.

      1. Yes!!! 27 degrees and snow this morning 😭😭😭
        Unseasonably cold!! Where is spring?
